VACANCIES: PROJECT MANAGERS (Infrastructure)
McGowan Infrastructure is an Aviemore-based company which specialises in undertaking general civil engineering and utility underground cabling works throughout Scotland. Duties & Responsibilities:
- Overseeing the day-to-day management of projects
- Ensuring adequate human resource & plant machinery allocated on the various projects managed
- Identify staffing accommodation requirements on projects managed
- Sourcing, procurement and delivery of materials for projects
- Subcontractor Management
- Liaising and attendance of meetings with clients and reporting progress
- Project work programming
- Ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget
- Ensuring project HSEQ standards are maintained on client projects
- Provide assistance to Contracts Manager on new tender enquiry methodology, resourcing requirements and costing
- Ensure adequate pollution and spill response procedures and equipment are maintained on individual projects to safeguard the environment
- Liaison with Clients, landowners, other stakeholders and regulatory authorities on project related matters
Qualifications & Experience:
- Full driving licence is essential
- Previous experience in human resource management is essential
- Previous experience in managing heavy plant machinery operations is highly desirable
- Previous experience of managing projects within remote and/or rural type environments is highly desirable
- CITB SMSTS, IOSH Managing Safely is highly desirable

VACANCIES: SITE SUPERVISORS (Infrastructure)

Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Leadership of site teams
- Issuing daily work allocation to site staff, and organising any work rotations
- Daily management and motivation of site staff and subcontractors
- Undertaking site inductions and safety briefings with staff and site visitors
- Ensure all related Health, Safety & Environmental procedures are adhered to on the individual projects in accordance with site rules, company procedures, clients own requirements and current legislation
- Ensure all site works completed to high quality and in accordance with Client specification requirements
- Liaison with Client /Client representative during the construction phase, and updating accordingly
- Engage with Contracts Manager & Project Manager to ensure works are planned and any future resource requirements are identified well in advance to prevent project programme delays
- Ensuring Project Programming targets are met
- Utility service detection and Initiating Permits to Work on site, as applicable
- Liaison with statutory bodies i.e. SEPA, HSE, local planning officers – where applicable
Qualifications & Experience:
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Valid Full driving licence with trailer entitlement is essential,
- Relevant experience of supervision, and management of a small team on similar type projects is highly desirable,
- CITB Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme or equivalent is highly desirable, but not essential.
- Current CSCS / CPCS / NPORS/SHEA Power card is highly desirable.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Operate plant machinery safely, in accordance with Industry Best Practice and training received
- Undertake plant machinery operations on varying ground conditions and terrain safely, in accordance with machine and operator own capability
- Assist plant haulier during loading and unloading activities
- Adhere to Site Supervisor / Manager instructions
- Ensure plant machinery and operations adhere to Site Rules and No-Go zones
- Carry out daily machine maintenance and inspection. Reporting of any machine defects on the company reporting facility
- Completion of weekly timesheet
- Report to your Line Manager or Site Supervisor of any accidents, incidents or Near Miss events immediately
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Certificates in relevant plant. (CPCS/NPORS or equivalent industry recognised standard) is essential
- Must have relevant experience of working plant machinery within a rural environment essential
- Previous experience in undertaking similar type works is highly desirable
- Valid full driving licence is essential, (with trailer entitlement is preferred)

Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assisting with new site set-up and establishment
- General hand excavation works
- General duties related to civil works including utility cable laying and trench backfill activities
- Undertaking final ground reinstatement works to a high standard
- Follow Site Rules, and company procedures when undertaking your duties and work in a safe manner
- Adhere to Line Manager & Site Supervisor instructions at all times
- Inform your Site Supervisor or Line Manager of any accidents, incidents or Near Misses
Qualifications & Experience:
- Full driving licence essential
- Previous experience of working within similar work sector environment is highly desirable
- Current SHEA Power card is highly desirable
- CSCS Labourer or equivalent health and safety training desirable
- First Aid Training is desirable
